LA84. When Carl Lewis grasped the star-spangled banner from an Olympic spectator and victory-lapped the Los Angeles Coliseum in 1984 - the year only the 'free-world' showed-up - the black-leather fists of Mexico 1968 had already been replaced in ironic parody by the white, jewelled glove of Michael Jackson's "Victory Tour" salute.
