The Void between West and East is a potentially erogenous zone. ln there somewhere is climactic incitement; the act required to achieve it however, remains taboo. To most of us a leap into the unknown is still forbidding and forbidden.
Platforms built for looking at Communism could, despite their physical dead-ends, provide springboards for consciousness. To increase this potential it would be desirable to construct similar platforms, next to the existing ones, but reversed, for the purpose of looking at Capitalism.
Looking is usually passive, always preceding the proverbial leap and sometimes completely replacing action. [T.V. signals are one of the most common forms of cross-border traffic.] Looking into the void becomes leaping, becomes active, only when it is understood that everything which is not East or West lies inbetween them.
The site of Utopia is no-man's land; under existing relations, however, no-man's land is the hottest property around.
